Raffle tractor winner joins CNDSTR

The 63rd annual Central North Dakota Steam Threshers Reunion on the third weekend of September featured perfect weather, great attendance, and a lot of fun!

The parade ran all three days, with the longest parade on Saturday. Directly after the parade, the steam engines trudged towards the hill to take on the plow field. Threshing and sawmilling were also in play the entire weekend. Thirteen loads of wheat bundles were threshed and tons of lumber was sawed by the two mills.

Inside the Potter Pavilion, music was often being appreciated. This year featured Randy Fauth, the Country Cousins, Greg Hager, and other local musical talent. The craft show, toy show, flea market, and Pioneer Village were all open for show goers to view. There was something for everyone and we hope to see you next year – September 16th-18th, 2022.

A special treat to this year's reunion featuring John Deere was a newly restored raffle tractor. Joe Rosendahl, a long-time member of CNDSTR, had a 1948 B John Deere that he no longer had a use for. He had decided to donate the tractor to the show to be used as a raffle tractor to raise funds for the show to continue for years to come. Joe's niece, La Rhae Dodds of Sheyenne, coordinated the donation with the board of directors, as Joe currently lives in a retirement home in Washington State. Board members Lucas Jury and Dakota Marsaa, along with lifetime member Lance Straabe, got the tractor and brought it back to a shop where they could begin the restoration. They stripped it down, did a few repairs, and painted it back to its original color. It turned out beautifully! Thank you, Joe, for your donation to CNDSTR, it was a great success. Thank you to Lucas Jury, Dakota Marsaa, and Lance Straabe for restoring the tractor and bringing back its beauty.

And the lucky winner is – Alex White of Kindred, ND! Alex attended his first steam threshing show this year at New Rockford. He is new to the hobby of enjoying old tractors and was beginning to search for a tractor that he could enjoy with his son in parades and shows. Alex purchased his winning ticket while at the reunion and is excited to return to the 2022 show with his new prize. He is now looking to purchase a John Deere plow to pull with his new John Deere B. Congratulations to Alex, the 2021 raffle tractor winner and newest lifetime member!
