Even after a tough loss to Carrington, the New Rockford-Sheyenne varsity team still kept smiles on their faces when shaking their opponents hands after the match.

The New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets traveled to Carrington to take on the local rivals in their home gym. The Rockets were defeated in three sets.
The Cardinals had many kills, most coming from senior middle blocker Sydnie Grager. Grager had a total of 16 kills against the Rockets. Also in double digits for the Cardinals was junior Haley Wolsky, who had a total of ten kills. Kelsie Belquist led the Rockets with six kills, with Madisen Myhre behind with four kills.
Senior setter Emma Rindy had the most assists for the Cardinals with 36. Sophomore Kacie Rexin had three assists, and freshman Isabel Wendel had two assists for the Cardinals. For the Rockets, Kaiya O'Connor led with 12 assists, with Ava Peterson behind her with five assists.
The Rockets had a total of six blocks against the Cardinals. Myhre led with four blocks and O'Connor and Belquist followed with one each. The Cardinals had a total of 11 blocks. Emma Hone, Grager and Wolsky had three blocks each, with Allison Jarrett and Rindy having one each.
Belquist was also the leader in digs for the Rockets with 12. Peterson and Kennedy Demester each brought in eight digs, with O'Connor down by one with a total of seven digs for the Rockets. Top diggers for the Cardinals were Mya Schroeder with 14, Wendel with 13, Rindy with 12, Jarrett with 10, and Grager with nine.
The Rockets and Cardinals tied in aces with three each. Wolsky scored the three aces for the Cardinals. Demester scored two aces for the Rockets and Peterson scored one.
The Carrington B-squad defeated the Rockets 25-16 in the first set, 25-14 in the second set and 15-12 in the third set.
The Carrington C-squad was also victorious and defeated the Rockets 25-18 in the first, 25-16 in the second and 15-9 in the third.
The Rockets eighth grade team was defeated 25-17 in the first set, but the Rockets came back in the second set to defeat the Cardinals 25-13. In the third set, the Cardinals defeated the Rockets 15-6.
The Rockets seventh grade team was also defeated by the Cardinals. The Cardinals defeated the Rockets 25-11 in the first set and 25-13 in the second set.
