Talk of the Town: Sept. 6, 2021

Saturday guests at the Janet Laube home were granddaughter Tonya, her husband, and Emmy, the dog, of Mandan. They enjoyed visiting over dinner at the Bird Dawg and looking at old photo books. YipYip and Emmy had a little disagreement over who got what treat.

Wednesday and Thursday found Calvin Packard a helper at mom Shirley's. Friday, Shirley did some errands around town.

Ken and Marvis Holte drove to Devils Lake Wednesday and picked up daughter Fayette Nelson to do some shopping and enjoyed visiting over dinner at the Pizza Ranch, Fayette’s treat.

Eloise Lucht visited on the phone with son Larry and family from Virginia where it’s hot. They are getting ready for the coming hurricane rains.

Candy Jenson enjoyed a recent phone call from long-time friend Brenda Trauman Thurin from South Dakota.

Janet Laube got phone calls this week from grandson Scott and Lois Ockert, both of Fargo, and from niece Shelly Nelson of Oklahoma, where it is hot.

Eloise Lucht got some great news this week about nephew Randy from Alaska. In March, Randy had a very serious snowmobile accident. He has gone through several surgeries and was told he may never walk again. He never gave up, always saying and having the faith that he would walk again. Miracles do happen. Randy is the son of Eloise’s sister Ann, and he is happy walking with a cane, and doing very well.
