Obituary: Cameron Pierson

Cameron Kent Pierson, 65, New Rockford, N.D., passed away July 18, 2021, in his sister's home in Fargo after a two-year battle with cancer.

Cameron Kent Pierson was born July 25, 1955 in New Rockford to Harry and Connie (Affeldt) Pierson. He grew up in New Rockford and attended school there. He bowled for many years, was secretary of his league and attended many tournaments. He loved selling raffle tickets for different events in New Rockford, and was known as the Raffle King. Cam was a huge football fan and loved betting against the Vikings and for Green Bay. He also really enjoyed Jeopardy at Buck-It's. He was a member of the Eagles Club.

Cam had worked for Mayo Lies's Standard Station while in high school. He also worked for Fisher Construction in Watford City, Bob Weber Construction, Sheyenne Sand & Gravel and Mark Rue until 2018. He would bartend for Hanson's and Marty's during the winter months.

He married Sandy (Wobbema) Rogers October 31, 1987. She brought two children to the marriage, Christopher and Jessica. They divorced in 2009.

He is survived by one brother and three sisters: Jason, Fargo; Garnet, Fargo; Carmen (Glenn) Johnson, West Fargo; and Deanna Kubas, Fargo; one niece and nephew Ivorie, West Fargo and Dustin (Brittney), Maddock; two great nephews Gavin Veum of West Fargo and Quinton of Maddock; one stepson and stepdaughter, Christopher Rogers, Fargo and Jessica (Tony) Peterson, New Rockford, and six step-grandchildren.

Cameron was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kerwin and brother-in-law, Marv Kubas. He was also preceded by his grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

Funeral was held Friday, July 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, New Rockford with visitation one hour prior. Burial was at Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford.
