Ruthers' bats silenced in loss to Carrington

New Rockford's Babe Ruth team traveled to Carrington on Friday, June 18, and their offense was held to just two hits in a 10-0 loss.

Each hitting singles, in defeat for New Rockford, were Keaton Cudworth and Bradyn Collier. Cudworth also got the start on the mound, with Alex Weisenburger coming on in relief.

The home-standing Redbirds, who improved to 3-1 with the win and could be a state tournament contender in Class B's District 6, scored five runs in the third inning, two in the fourth and three in the fifth.

Carrington cleanup hitter Ryder Bickett went 3-for-3, including a double. Corbin Clifton and Grady Shipman, who also doubled, scored two runs each.

Redbird hurlers, Jacob Rexin and Kyle Johnson, teamed up to strike out eight New Rockford batters, and only one New Rockford player, Cudworth, reached as far as third base.
