Arlene V (Erman) Bush, 92, passed away on June 9, 2021 at Edgewood Vista in Mandan, N.D.
Arlene was born on October 3, 1928 in Harvey, N.D. to Samuel (Ehrmann) Erman and Bertha (Wiersch) Erman. She grew up in Emrick, N.D. When she was 16, her parents moved her and her brothers (Clifford and Marvin) 18 miles east of New Rockford, N.D.
Arlene graduated from New Rockford High School, worked at First State Bank, and then a year later she attended Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn. She returned to New Rockford and worked at John Deere for five years.
Arlene married Glenn J. Bush on October 25, 1948. They farmed in Munster Township W/NW of New Rockford, N.D.
Upon retirement, and for the next four years, Glenn and Arlene traveled all over the United States in a 35' fifth wheel. Later they purchased a home in Mesa, Ariz. and until Glenn's passing, they split their time between Mesa, Ariz. and New Rockford, N.D.
She is survived by her children: Debra K. (Andy) Thompson, Tempe, Ariz .; Christine A. (Thomas) Hagen, LaVergne, Tenn .; Lynette M. (Phil) Majerus, Detroit Lakes, Minn .; Randall G. (Susan) Bush, Bismarck, N.D .; Brian G. (Darlene) Bush, Beulah, N.D .; Anthony T. (Julia) Bush, New Rockford, N.D .; Gregory J. Bush, Fargo, N.D. and Gerard J. (Julie) Bush, Scottsdale, Ariz.
Also, she is survived by her 27 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, three great-great granddaughters, numerous nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law Gloria (Knott) Bush, Elaine (Bush) Atkins and Patricia (Bush) Dyrness.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; her parents, Samuel and Bertha; son, Thomas Allen Bush; grandson, Craig Frederickson; and three brothers and two sisters.
A celebration of life will be held in New Rockford, N.D. at St. John's Catholic Church with a 7 p.m. vigil service on July 21, 2021 and 11 a.m. funeral service on July 22, 2021.
