Pfau to receive ND Environmental Services Award for her work at LHGS

North Dakota Environmental Services Association will be presenting MarJean Pfau with the 2021 N.D. Environmental Services Award at the association's Gala Dinner on Wednesday, August 25.

MarJean (Stokke) Pfau grew up in the New Rockford with two sisters and four brothers. She is married to Jeff Pfau, and they have two grown children. MarJean and Jeff are the proud grandparents to three grandchildren, Emerson, Elliot, and Cooper.

MarJean began employment at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd over 30 years ago and has been such a valuable team member throughout the years. Whether it is taking out the garbage, scrubbing floors, recycling, or being a caring friend to residents, MarJean is very deserving and worthy of this recognition! MarJean consistently displays a positive demeanor, works hard, and goes above and beyond by making sure the residents are cared for.

MarJean takes her job in Environmental Services very seriously, paying extra special attention to infection control during the covid pandemic. She is detail-orientated , has excellent attendance, and is always willing to take on extra shifts when needed.

MarJean is also known for her sweet and thoughtful gestures by making special holiday cards, decorating the dementia unit for holidays, and bringing in a resident's favorite pizza when there is a particular item on the menu! MarJean truly lives the LHGS mission by providing, in the name of Christ, high-quality, long-term care and other services and programs, which address the needs of the senior citizens and special needs individuals.

Outside of work, MarJean enjoys spending time with her family and friends, doing yardwork and riding bike. MarJean also keeps busy by operating a small cleaning business and volunteering at the local theater, and serving on the local ambulance for 19 years. MarJean and Jeff are also the owners of Pfau Brothers Auto Body in New Rockford.

The North Dakota Environmental Services Association is a nonprofit professional association whose members are long term care facilities who are dedicated to maintaining and creating a safe and comfortable environment for their residents, families, staff and all people that walk through their front doors.
