Dave and Cheryl Gabbert of Blaine, Minn., arrived to visit their mother, Shirley Packard, on Wednesday, bringing birthday greetings. Thursday, Shirley had a chiropractic appointment. Friday, Shirley and Cheryl drove to Devils Lake and did some shopping. Dave, Cheryl and Shirley enjoyed supper at The View at Spirit Lake Casino on Saturday. On Sunday, the Gabberts returned to their home in Blaine.

Saturday, Ken and Marvis Holte received sad news from their daughter Fayette that her husband Donnie Nelson, who was under hospice care, had passed away in Devils Lake. The Holte's and their other daughter, Amanda, and her husband Cody Bickett, drove to Devils Lake to be with Fayette during this difficult time.

Friday, Shirley Packard and daughter Cheryl stopped briefly at the Todd Harrison home to investigate his home remodeling. Wow!

Tuesday, helpers and errand runners at the Shirley Packard home were Kevin Johnson and Kim Johnson. Maxine Hoppe called Shirley's phone number mistakenly one day, so they had a little chat. Maxine's dad Edgar Duda will be celebrating his 94th birthday April 28. He is a resident of Golden Acres Manor in Carrington.

Friday, Amanda Bickett and Izzy were visitors at the Ken and Marvis Holte home. All enjoyed a snack and conversation over tea.

Friday found Shirley Packard getting phone calls filled with birthday greetings from her sister Vida Klocke of Underwood, N.D.; flowers from daughter Christy and Jeff Schuda and sons, and Stan Guler of West Fargo.
