Carrington Pitcrew had wrestlers compete in state duals, girls state, and state individuals for folkstyle wrestling tournaments on March 26 and 27.
The small group dual team, with wrestlers in pre-k through sixth grade, went 2-2 overall. They started the day against Sundawg Wrestling with a win of 39-18, followed by a 18-39 loss to Beach. Pitcrew's small group defeated Gorilla Orange with a score of 35-16, and they ended the day with a loss to Bison Wrestling Club with a score of 12-42.
The pre-k to third grade dual team started the day with a bye, then lost to Bison Wrestling Club with a score of 19-34. They won their second dual against Casselton Crushers with a score of 33-21. Their last dual was a close call, but ended in a loss to Dickinson 26-29.
For Girls State on Friday evening, Rynna Jorgensen had a fourth place finish.
Pitcrew had the following 26 wrestlers compete in State individuals, with over half of them placing in the top six. The placers are listed below.
The Pitcrew took second place in the individual tournament with a team score of 159.5, behind South Border, for small-team wrestling clubs.

Many of the Pitcrew wrestlers will continue their seasons. There are a couple of folkstyle tournaments yet, but many will head into Greco and Freestyle wrestling for the month of April.
As of March 30, 2021, the NDHSAA sanctioned girls wrestling as a sport for the 2021-22 school year. This means that all girls teams that are created are only to compete against other girls.
