American Legion Auxiliary collecting donations for homeless shelter in Devils Lake

The Dakota Prairie Homeless Shelter in Devils Lake is in need of supplies, and the American Legion building in New Rockford will be a drop-off place for people to bring their donations.

Please drive in the alley behind the American Legion, and leave donations and supplies by the back door. The auxiliary asks items come packed in plastic bags.

Items currently needed at the shelter are as follows: Cleaning supplies; disinfecting wipes; hygiene supplies for men and women; shampoo; toothbrushes; toothpaste; body wash; q-tips; hand lotions; shaving needs; and other toiletries; and toilet tissue. They request “NO bedding” at this time. If you are able to take your donations directly to Dakota Prairie, it is located just west of Lamotte’s Paint & Glass and north of Ramsey National Bank in Devils Lake. All donations are appreciated, and the Auxiliary will try to keep donors updated on the needs they have.
