Water plant addition erected in two days

The foundation walls were poured last fall by Lindstrom Concrete & Construction of Devils Lake.

Throughout the winter Wells Precast Innovators built the 10 wall panels and three double tee roof panels at their facility.

The panels were brought to New Rockford on semi trucks Monday. One at a time, the panels were hoisted up and set into place with a crane from Industrial Builders.

The wall panels were then set on the concrete foundation and welded in place to the steel embeds. Bracing is set to keep the wall panels plumb until they are all in place.

Once the roof panels were set and welded into place, the bracing was removed. Finally, the joints between the panels were sealed with an industrial caulking material.

An opening on the left side of the addition will make it possible to bring in the water treatment equipment, namely a reverse osmosis system.

In the next few weeks, general contractor Sentry Crane will close in the building, adding roofing and doors. There is also some interior concrete work that needs to be done.
