Rockets fend off Raiders at home

The New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets took on the Lakota Raiders at home on Friday, January 29, and the Rockets pulled away with a 76-41 win.

Evan Ulrich put up three field goals and two free throws in the first quarter to take a 14 point lead on the Raiders. Along with Ulrich, Johnny Grann and Kaden Jensen brought in five points each during the first quarter.

During the second quarter, Ulrich scored nine more points to keep the Rockets ahead by 18. At the end of the third quarter, the Rockets were ahead by 26. Ulrich, Grann and Nick Berglund each brought in five points during the third quarter. There was no chance for the Raiders to catch up anytime soon.

Ulrich was the lead scorer for the Rockets with 26 total points. Other Rocket teammates in the double figures were Grann with 13 points and Koven Walford and Berglund each with 11 points.

Zac Gibson held the top points for the Raiders with 11. Ross Thompson was not far behind with 10 points. Cole Hendrickson also brought in eight points for the Raiders.
