NRABC launches Wonder Lanes survey

The New Rockford Area Betterment Corporation is currently in the research phase of the Wonder Lanes Bowling Alley update project. In early January, there was a site visit from two industry representatives to assess the current facility and provide options and estimates.

The research phase also involves understanding community needs and wants for the facility.

“As we contemplate spending tax-payer time and dollars on this project, it is important for the community to have a voice and involvement,” says Amanda Hegland, executive director of the NRABC. The NRABC has hired Sarah Smith Warren of Soul Space Work, to conduct community research, fundraising plans and overall project management.

Feedback will be sought in a few different ways. First, residents are asked to fill out a community survey on or before February 20. The survey is available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/bowlingsurvey21.

Links to the survey are also posted on several local websites including the Transcript, NRABC and City of New Rockford, as well as on these organization’s Facebook pages. In addition, there are paper surveys available at several businesses around the community including Bakers Dozen, Rockford Café and The New Rockford Transcript. A youth survey is also planned. The NRABC and Soul Space Work will conduct focus group discussion sessions with residents and specifically the bowling community. The community survey research will help inform the NRABC about which priorities are most important within the project and lead to funding strategies.
