The New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets are gearing up for the start of their winter athletic season, and both the boys and girls basketball teams will be on the court this week.
NDHSAA attendance guidelines were updated on Dec. 9, which allows for more capacity in the NR-S gym. Note this increase in capacity rides on the commitment from fans and players to wear a mask.
Superintendent Jill Louters says, “As we prepare for our opening games, it is absolutely critical that all of our team personnel, our home and our visiting fans comply with the new guidelines.”
Note: Observed non-compliance by any district staff, player or guest will be reported to NDHSAA.
The following guidelines will apply to all in attendance:
Capacity under the guidelines (not including team personnel) is 300. NR-S will reserve 225 tickets for Rocket fans and issue 75 tickets to visiting team fans.
Masks will be worn by the coaches, players on the benches and fans throughout the event and in the stands.
Concessions will be served, however, communal seating will not be available in the lunchroom. Concessions staff will also be masked.
Other districts may choose to handle fan attendance in other ways, please check prior to traveling for a game.
Fans will also be able to watch games through the NFHS network for free!
