Santa Claus is coming to town

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. The jolly old fellow will make an appearance in New Rockford on Saturday, December 5.

Kids are invited to attend a matinee showing of "Frozen" at the Rockford Theatre at 1 p.m. Admission is free with the donation of a canned food item or personal care item for the Hunger Free Food Pantry.

To cap off Winterfest week, Santa Claus will arrive at the Rockford Theatre around 2 p.m. Youth ages 12 and under will all receive treat bags courtesy of the New Rockford Lions Club and the New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce.

Photo opportunities with Santa will occur from a distance, in according with state and local guidelines. All participants should follow basic safety precautions by wearing a mask, keeping 6 ft. of distance between families and washing their hands.

Kids can leave letters for Santa in the special North Pole mailbox outside the theatre beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday.
