Halloween Happenings all around town

There's so much happening in New Rockford this Halloween it's scary!!

The fun weekend kicks off with roller skating at the Brown Memorial on Friday, October 30 from 7 - 8 p.m. The volunteers invite you to "Bring your little pumpkins to skate with us!" Be sure to wear your costumes!

A Spooktacular shopping event will be held on Saturday, October 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wallow Room located inside Rock Inn. Clean Little Boy Soaps, Scentsy, Java Momma coffee, and Color Street Nails will be on display and available for purchase.

The New Rockford Lions Club will sponsor a "Trunk or Treat" event at Centennial Park in downtown New Rockford from 4 - 6 p.m on Halloween. Come enjoy the fun and see all the spooky ways participants deck out their vehicles with Halloween decorations. Kids can visit each of the decorated "trunks" for a trick or treat.

Trick or treat! The classic Halloween tradition is still alive. Official trick or treating hours are until 8:30. Put on your favorite costume and enjoy a night on the town just like the good old days. Be courteous of neighbors who may be in isolation or quarantine and only go to houses with their lights on.

Sources of Strength, the student-led organization that focuses on mental wellness, will be collecting canned goods for a food drive. Residents are asked to gather non-perishable food gather non-perishable food items and place them on the curb. SOS students will gather the items between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Note that if students do approach your door, they will be masked appropriately.

Catch a show at the Rockford Theatre, or take in a double feature. At 7 p.m., let the 1993 blockbuster "Hocus Pocus" put a spell on you. Rated PG. For those not afraid to stay out late, the 1978 horror classic "Halloween" will be on the big screen producing big screams. Showtime starts at 9 p.m. Rated R. Come to the movie in costume and get a special treat!

The New Rockford Eagles Club will host their annual Halloween dance and costume contest. DJ Howling Horse will be providing entertainment. Patrons can also enjoy a $5 taco in a bag and try fun shots or specialty cocktails. A few lucky ghouls and gals will take home some great prizes in the costume contest, so dress accordingly.
