One dead in Eddy County crash

According to the N.D. Highway Patrol (NDHP), an individual was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Eddy County last night. A 2015 Jeep Cherokee was traveling northbound on County Road 14 south of New Rockford at about 9:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19. As the vehicle traveled northbound, the vehicle went in both the east and west ditch, finally traveling mostly in the west ditch. The vehicle vaulted over an approach near 17th St NE, landed and began to roll. At some point during the rollover, the vehicle caught on fire, coming to rest facing to the south, southeast direction. The driver has not been identified. The investigation is ongoing by the NDHP and Eddy County Sheriff's Office. The New Rockford Fire Department also responded to the crash.
