Changes made to Rocket volleyball, football schedules

The New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets have announced the dates for three volleyball matches that were rescheduled due to a COVID-19 outbreak at the school, and the team's resulting two-week quarantine.

The Rockets' Super Region 4 match against HWC, which was slated for Thursday, September 24, has been moved to Saturday, Oct. 17.

Another regional match against Benson County (September 29) will now be played on Friday, October 30, and one with St. John (October 1) was rescheduled to Monday, October 19.

Two previously-scheduled matches against Drake-Anamoose from September 22 and TGU on October 3 have been cancelled since they were non-region games, and will not be made up.

All other up coming matches on the original schedule will be played as before, team health-permitting.

The football team, meanwhile, has cancelled the two games they were to play before going into quarantine, which were against Nelson County and North Prairie on September 25 and October 2, respectively.

NR-S' game with Cavalier was moved back to Tuesday, October 13 at 6 p.m. from its October 9 date, due to the team coming back to practice on October 8 and needing more time for preparation, according to Coach Elliott Belquist. The final game of the regular season against Dunseith will remain on Friday, October 16, also at 7 p.m.
