Tractor Trek kicks off Steam Threshers event

Amid the fog, another annual tradition rolled on this past Thursday.

Central North Dakota Steam Threshers Association (CNDSTR) members took part in their Tractor Trek, a stream of men and women on vintage tractors of all colors and sizes.

This year's trek, which departed from the Eddy County fairgrounds at 10 a.m. Thursday, took participants to Grace City, and was dedicated to Larry Nohrenberg, a board member from Jamestown.

Larry is not new to tractor rides by any means. His grandfather took him to the Central North Dakota Steam Thresher's Reunion (CNDSTR) when he was a young boy. Larry has fond memories of riding along with Grandpa on his 1903 Case Steamer during the reunion. Grandpa Ernest Nohrenberg was a founding member of the CNDSTR. Larry's parents, Ray and Barbara Nohrenberg were lifetime members of CNDSTR, too. It is no wonder when asked to serve on the CNDSTR board, Larry said yes, and is serving in his third term.

Larry has always enjoyed IHC pickups and trucks along with his 1950 Farmall H. He is a lifetime farmer in the Pingree area and recently retired from the former Western Gear Corporation at Jamestown. Larry and Judy live at Jamestown and are enjoying their nine grandchildren.
