DPRCA cancels remainder of 2020 season

DPRCA has canceled the remainder of their 2020 season. Here’s the announcement they posted to their Facebook page this past week:

And so another summer has come and gone…

At this point in the year, we here at the DPRCA would normally be ramping up preparations for a variety of fall and winter events, culminating in our big holiday musical. Unfortunately, the perpetually-escalating COVID-19 situation (and all of its resulting uncertainty) has forced us to rethink our plans and, after much discussion, we have decided to cancel the rest of our 2020 season.

The sad fact of the matter is that we are not alone in this decision. Countless other theatre houses across the nation have been forced to close their doors in the wake of this ongoing crisis. While this does not soften the blow, it DOES strengthen our resolve: to stand in solidarity with our fellow artists all over the country; to continue making considered, well-educated, and responsible decisions; to lead by example in adherence to all current health- and safety-regulations; and to do everything in our power to bring our top-quality entertainment back to this fabulous community.

Does this course of action knock us back a few steps? Absolutely it does. But that just gives us more room for a running start when we’re finally able to get moving again. We can’t begin to express our appreciation for your continued patience, good will, and support in these trying times. Though the intermission continues, the ghost light is still aglow.
