Last week, walking out to the barn, Doris Griffin found a Guinea hen with 20 chicks. (They are called keets). She scooped up 19 of them and took them to the house and one chick was left with mom. Every morning, mom calls her friends in the barn and they come out and the three of them take care of the one chick.

Doris also found another Guinea hen sitting on a nest. Since it is so late in the season for them to be hatching eggs, Doris says it must be climate change. Doris took produce to the farmer’s market in Sheyenne on Saturday. Next Saturday will probably be the last one for this season.
