Talk of the Town: Sept. 7, 2020

Thursday, the Flower Scent-R in New Rockford was the scene of a short but sweet visit as Gina Clifton and Cassidy, Terry and Sandy Koepplin, Melony Allmaras and Candy Jensen visited with cousins Dorice Kraus Oynes of Bismarck and her daughter Erin of Wisconsin and Shirley Kraus Sivertson of Jamestown. The gals paid their respect to loved ones at Prairie Home Cemetery before heading for their homes.

Wednesday found Cheryl Janzen in Devils Lake doing what she likes to do best on her days off–work. She does general cleaning at the TLC Pet Rescue out of love for pets and the adoptable, spayed and neutered cats and dogs there.

Sunday afternoon visitors at the Ken and Marvis Holte home were Cody and Amanda Bickett and Izzy.

Sunday Janet Laube and YipYip picked up Charlotte Koepplin and drove to Grace City where they enjoyed buffet dinner at the School House Café and visited with Judy Swanson, Arlo Stedman and Joan Anderson.

Candy Jensen enjoyed a phone call from Brenda Trauman Thurn from South Dakota. Brenda was excited to send a phone picture of her new pet Jazzy the wienie dog.

Monday Shirley Packard kept a chiropractic appointment.

Mavis Holte frequents the library in Carrington. On her last visit, she came across several western paperbacks written by Peter Brandvold who also goes by the pen name Frank Leslie. Peter happens to be a cousin to Mavis’ husband, Ken, and has published over 100 paperback books in his career as an author for 20 plus years. And of course, Mavis took one home to read.

Janet Laube enjoyed a phone chat with sister-in-law Lois Ockert Saturday from her home in Fargo.
