Garnet Pierson was presented with a 50-years-of-service certificate along with a gold engraved coin. FSA State Director Brad Thykeson made the presentation.
On July 20, 2020, Garnet F. Pierson completed 50 years of service with the Farm Service Agency.
She began working part-time for the Farmers Home Administration in New Rockford in 1970. In July of 1971, she transferred to Ashley, N.D., working full time; in September of 1971, she transferred to Napoleon, N.D.; in September of 1972, she transferred to West Fargo, N.D. In 1975, she transferred back to New Rockford in a training position for Assistant County Supervisor, which lasted seven months.
In February of 1976, she transferred to Towner, N.D., for four months and in July of 1976, transferred to Fargo, where she has been employed since. During this time she received numerous cash awards and letters of commendation.
A small celebration was held in Fargo.
Pierson plans to retire by year's end. She enjoys being with family, reading, TV, movies and occasionally gambling.
