Talk of the Town: July 13, 2020

On the Fourth of July, Eloise Lucht was pleasantly surprised by visits from Rodney and Karen Thompson, Debbie Bush and Dave and Karen Thompson.

Jay and Trisha McMonagle, Wylie, Zaylie and Max were Fourth of July weekend guests at the Martin and Janelle Koepplin home. The McMonagles are from Brainerd, Minn.

Janet Laube received calls and cards on July 5th from friends and family, wishing her a happy 73rd birthday.

All the excitement started Thursday, July 2nd at the Shirley Packard home, when daughter Cindy Toben of Clear Lake, S.D., and daughter Christi and Jeff Schuda, Cooper and Parker arrived. Friday, July 3, daughter Cheryl and Dave Gabbert and Brandon, and daughter Connie Van Den Einde, all of Minnesota, joined the crew.

One afternoon, Shirley and Cindy, Parker and Cooper visited with Merita Adnan and enjoyed seeing the sheep lambs. On the Fourth, the gang enjoyed the parade and swimming. Also, on the Fourth there were some major decorating going on in the Packard yard by Connie Van Den Einde and Jeff Schuda, as all was set up for a dual celebration. One for Cheryl, as she was celebrating her 60th birthday, July 13th and another for Cindy, to celebrate her retirement after 35 years of teaching school.

There were lots of balloons, fun and games followed by a banquet supper prepared by Cheryl, Cindy, Connie and Christy. Shirley says her refrigerator is still full. Others enjoying the occasion were Tim Hartl, Tom Hartl and Todd Harrison. By Monday, July 6, things were near normal as the weekend family fun and celebrations were over and all safely back to their homes.

Ross and Allyssa Lewis, Kenna, Grady and Suzy were Fourth of July weekend guests at the Todd and Karen Koepplin farm. They are from Dickinson.

Wednesday guests and helpers at the Eloise Lucht home were Jay and Heidi Schnieder and Collie.

Loren and Amber Holte and Mckenzie of Bismarck helped Ken and Marvis Holte celebrate the Fourth of July over the weekend. They were supper guests Friday. The morning of the Fourth all drove to New Rockford for the parade, as did Cody and Amanda Bickett. Noon found Loren, and family, dinner guests at Ken and Marvis watching the afternoon parade in Carrington and later all enjoyed a potluck, outdoor picnic supper at Cody and Amanda’s.

Monday, Janet Laube enjoyed a catch-up call from Carol Clancy from Thompson.

Calvin Packard enjoyed the Fourth of July weekend camping at Ambercrombie and seeing the sites.

Sunday, Loren and Amber Holte and Mckenzie, brought lunch to the Ken and Marvis Holte home. All enjoyed visiting while eating before they returned to their home in Bismarck after a fun weekend with family.
