Sheyenne News: July 13, 2020

Bonnie Deegan, Shirley Westby, Jan Loe and Patti Clifton got together for a visit and coffee one day last week.

Bob and Dawn Boyd from Minnesota spent the July 4 week at their “home away from home” in Sheyenne. While here, they drove to Medora to enjoy dinner and the musical one evening.

Laurel Bolger and her friend Dennis from Iowa and Jason Stenberg of Pekin stopped at the Warsing Dam campsite of Steph Loe, Mary Evenson, John Phillips and Fisher for a visit with Steph, Jan and Steve Loe.

Laurel and Dennis were in North Dakota for a visit with her mother Marilyn Stenberg of Lakota and brother Jason over the July 4 weekend.

The Sheyenne Fire Department, Community Ambulance Service, the Eddy County VFW and several community members did a mini-parade through the streets of Sheyenne on the morning of the Fourth. The Sheyenne community was treated to an awesome fireworks show at Warsing Dam that evening.

The event was put on by the Elvis Thumb family and Isaiah Jackson, along with some donations from community members. It was an awesome conclusion to Independence Day this year and the community appreciated it very much! It was the “bright” spot in a quiet Fourth due to the pandemic. Both of these events remind us that community matters!

Stay healthy and safe everyone!
