Spirit Lake Tribal Health celebrated the 43rd Annual Nursing Assistant Week June 18-25 by thanking all the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
Three and a half years ago, there were only three CNAs employed by Tribal Health.
Today Spirit Lake Tribal Health is so happy to recognize all 15 of its CNAs for all they do to help the people of the Spirit Lake Nation, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Community Health Representatives (CHR) conduct home visits and provide medical services to all ages. They deliver patient medications, participate in community education and prevention events, advocate for the needs of individuals, and refer to other programs for additional resources available.
Public Health Nursing (PHN) provides a variety of medical services to people of all ages, including coordination of care for patients by working with providers, making appointments, arranging transportation, and providing home visits for after care. Staff also provides health education and screening. Spirit Lake Tribal Health has been active in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, assisting with several mass testing events on the Spirit Lake Nation in cooperation with the North Dakota Department of Health and the North Dakota national Guard.
