Cities Service to host classic car show downtown Saturday

This Saturday, June 13, New Rockford will host its first of hopefully many mini car shows, thanks to Cities Service Station owner Ron Lende.

Ron has taken to setting up in the parking lot of his "Cities Service" gas station that he has restored, and serving the people of New Rockford and the surrounding area!

The Lake Region Classic Cruisers will caravan from the Leevers South parking lot in Devils Lake at 4 pm on Saturday and travel south to New Rockford via Hwy 20 past the Warwick Dam to Hwy 15 west to New Rockford.

The cruisers will have their cars parked downtown by 5 p.m for an early evening meal. The public is invited to peruse the classic and vintage vehicles and get a bite to eat of their own. Local New Rockford car club members will be on hand to help with parking..Grab a couple of folding chairs to bring along and enjoy the cars and the atmosphere!!

Ron serves "fair food" from his stand and the menu includes philly cheese steak sandwiches, bison burgers, bratwursts, Italian Sausages, and the old standby hot dogs! Fellow food stand guru "The Hot Dog Peddler" from Fargo, N.D. will also be set up offering footlong dogs and battered corn dogs. Lende is ready to accept the group from Devils Lake showing up at his Cities Service station on Saturday afternoon and serving all of us, some of his tasty food wares!

Ron has lined up parking at the Cities Service station and across the street and is looking forward to this event!

There will be photo opportunities for those that wish to have a picture taken in front of Lende's old restored Cities Service station.
