Nadley Buehler joined the Maddock Public School staff on Friday delivering May Day baskets to the student’s doorsteps. Many were surprised to see the school bus sitting in front of their home honking the horn.
Lester Roberts visited with his twin sisters, Jean Olson and June Sabbe on the phone to wish them happy birthday April 30. Odean Olson called Lester for a phone visit on Friday. Chad Getscher visited Lester on Sunday. They visited outside to enjoy the sunshine but respected distancing.
Monday, Barb and Doug Steinmetz and Lee Simon were lunch guests at Randy and Charlotte Simon’s home. Mandy Huth and Garrett Becker stopped by the Simon’s for a visit Monday evening. Tuesday, Mark, Mason and Miles Simon arrived at Randy and Charlotte’s home. They were overnight guests. Easton and Jaxon Simon came over to play with their cousins Tuesday afternoon. They jumped on the trampoline, played in the sandbox, had a game of croquet, and had a scavenger hunt. Randy and Lee have started spreading fertilizer preparing for the 2020 farming season.
Dave and Linda Madson went to New Rockford on business on Wednesday. On the way home, the Madson’s stopped by to see Carrie and Paul Prince. Carrie brought the Madson’s puppy, Morgan, home on Thursday. He had learned some better manners while he was visiting. Sunday afternoon, Dave and Linda and Morgan drove out to Six Mile Bay to check on the camper. The campsite is still very wet with water standing under the deck. Saturday night, Cathy, Shawn and Brandon Caulfield of Jamestown had been fishing at Six Mile Bay and drove by the Madson’s for a short visit from their vehicle. They caught their limit of fish.
The John Grann family and the Derek Johnson family helped Amanda celebrate her birthday in the Johnson’s indoor arena Friday evening. Donna and Bobbi Grann were participants in a barrel racing competition at Beards Arena by Bismarck Saturday afternoon. John rode along to watch. Brittany Grann was in Bathgate, N.D., over the weekend to visit her dad and help him to re-open his bar to customers. Jim Howard and his dog, Shadow, from Bismarck stopped by the John Grann residence to say, “Hi” on their way to Grahams Island on Thursday.
