Larson family cleans up nice

The Larson family continued a longstanding family tradition this spring and finished just in time for Earth Day. "Ever since the girls were little, we'd spend time picking up garbage each spring," says Sheyenne resident Patti Larson. The daughters she speaks of, Joanna Larson and Sandra Larson are anything but little anymore.

With both out of the house- either in college or building their career, it's hard to find time for tradition.

This year, with all the COVID-19 precautions, both girls are home, allowing the family to carry on in their activities. They completed a quarter-mile stretch along Eddy County Road 1 that travels east of Sheyenne, collecting more than seven bags of garbage.

Sandra is continuing her education through online classes at the University of Minnesota. Joanna is preparing to return to her work as an engineer in Madison, Wisc., next week.

On a final note, the Larson gals encourage others to take a sack for collecting trash when going on social distancing walks!
