Vote By Mail applications arriving in homes this week

Around April 20, Eddy County residents will be receiving a letter and an application in the mail from the N.D. Secretary of State's office to Vote by Mail (VBM) for the June 9 Primary Election. All Eddy County residents will receive an application to complete and a postage-paid return envelope to return the application to the Eddy County Auditor. Please check all elections that you would like to vote in and the applications will be forwarded to the appropriate offices. Please review the information for accuracy and remember to date and sign the application.

Once the Auditor's Office receives the applications and verifies all the information is filled in correctly, a ballot will be mailed. Ballots cannot be sent out until April 30.

The voter will then vote on the ballot at their convenience and return the voted ballot to the County Auditor's office through the mail anytime up until June 8, or it can be dropped off at the secure ballot box which will be located at the bottom of the courthouse steps until 4 p.m. on June 9, Election Day. The ballot box will be available during regular working hours only, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will be available starting April 30.

Following the mailing of applications to all voters, a notice will be published in the official county newspaper, along with an application, notifying all individuals who did not receive an application of how to obtain one from the Eddy County Auditor's Office.

There will NOT be an open polling place on Election Day due to the COVID-19 virus.

Voters who need assistance to complete their ballot can make an appointment by calling the Auditor's Office to use the Express Vote equipment.

If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please do not hesitate to call the Eddy County Auditor's Office at (701) 947-2434, ext. 2020.
