Jack Frost had a spat with Mother Nature to stall spring. He won, it snowed, the robins are thinking they came too soon and I think the geese made a u-turn and headed back south. New Rockford residents dug out and went back to the business of minding their P’s and Q’s about COVID-19.

Wednesday, Eloise Lucht kept an appointment at the Eye Clinic in Devils Lake. She was met by masked personnel and returned home via the Eddy County senior van with a good report on her eyes.

Shirley Packard remains homebound during the virus threat. Kevin Johnson stopped in briefly Tuesday, on phone adjustments and Mary Ghertz was there to clean on Friday.

Monday Ken and Marvis Holte enjoyed an open window chat with their daughter Amanda Bickett and Izzy. Sunday, the Holte’s returned the favor and chatted with the Bicketts at their front window. Izzy dog just couldn’t figure out why they didn’t come in and her out to greet them.

Alan and Julie Lucht called mom, Eloise Lucht, from their home in Germany checking on the virus status here. Alan is handling his civil engineer job from home and Julie is busy making quilts. They are doing fine.

Janet Laube sponsored the First Lutheran Radio broadcast for Sunday, March 30 in Memory of her late husband Leo’s 89th birthday which would have been March 30, 2020.

Travelers, Dave and Cheryl Gabbert traveled from Texas to Hankinson, N.D. where they will probably spend a good part of the summer with Dave’s family.

Sunday, Calvin Packard delivered mom, Shirley, a yummy ham dinner.

Sunday, Ken and Marvis Holte enjoyed an ice cream treat delivered by a neighbor to all residents in the apartments where they live. Later the Holte’s went for a drive and enjoyed a porch to street chat with friend Hally Zieman.
