COVID-19: New Rockford business updates

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, many businesses have either been directed to or have voluntarily decided to close or alter their services. As the local news source, we at the New Rockford Transcript bring you this list of relevant notices to which you should be aware. This list will be continuously updated as we receive new information from local businesses.

As Tiffany Schaefer of Rockford Cafe noted, "Please remember to support all local businesses, especially during these times. These small businesses are the ones who support our local kids, clubs, and so many things that keep our communities thriving. Not every business has the option to work from home."

***For your own protection & for that of the workers in our businesses, if you are sick or have traveled to infected areas, please do not come into any store.***

On Wednesday, April 29, Governor Burgum amended his executive order that directed many businesses to close. This week he provided new protocols to allow most of those businesses to reopen on May 1, including movie theaters, fitness centers, salons, barber shops, tattoo parlors and massage therapy businesses, bars and restaurants. Information about the ND Smart Restart protocols are available at ndresponse.gov. The decision to reopen is completely voluntary, so businesses can decide individually if and when they will reopen as long as they follow the protocols in place.
