Rebels cruise past Rockets

New Rockford-Sheyenne just did not play very well overall as Medina-Pingree-Buchanan defeated the locals in non-district girls basketball action, played at

Pingree on Monday, Feb. 10. The Rockets never quit, but didn’t shoot well from the field and had quite a few turnovers. The Rebels led throughout and at all quarter stops, 25-8, 42-19, 60-31 and won by a final score of 71-43.

The Rebels are a fairly young team but they are having a good year and should be one of the top teams in Region 3. Gracie Bohl led M-P-B with a game-high 24 points. Megan Moser had 15 and Ryleigh Martin added 14. Dani Bjerke led the locals with 13 points. Hannah Haley added 10 points.

M-P-B made 27 field goals, 13-17 free throws, and committed 16 fouls. The Rockets made 16 field goals, 9-14 free throws, and committed 18 fouls. New Rockford-Sheyenne closes out the regular season at 10-8 overall. The top four teams from District 7 and District 8 advance on to the Region 4 Tournament to be held Feb. 24, 25 and 27 in Devils Lake.
