Obituary: LeRoy Hart

LeRoy Earl Hart, 77 of Carrington, passed away Jan. 31, 2020 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington. The funeral service was Feb. 4, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington. Burial was at the Carrington Cemetery. Rev. Sarah Shanks officiated with special music provided by Clara Edwardson. Casket bearers were Erin Hart, Adam Hart, Annie Hart, Katie McCabe, Mason Hart and Madison Hart. Honorary bearers were Jerome Neis, Larry Lura, Bud Schock, Darrell Wolsky, Tim Zink, Darin Hart, Randy Boysun and Jim Ferch

LeRoy was born at the Carrington Hospital on Jan. 18, 1943 to Earl & Olga (Stene) Hart. LeRoy graduated from Carrington High School in 1961 and attended North Dakota State University. On June 7, 1963, LeRoy married the love of his life, Lori Boysun.

LeRoy served as Foster County Commissioner, member of the Carrington School Board, Trinity Lutheran Church Board and a Bucephalia Township Supervisor for 50 years.

LeRoy is survived by his wife; daughter, Julie McCabe, Bismarck, N.D.; sons, Tory (Lori) Hart, Jamestown and Kelly (Jana) Hart, West Fargo, N.D.; six grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Jan) Hart, Carrington; brother-in-law, Randy (Mary) Boysun, Wolf Point, Mont., and sister-in-law, Jeanette (Jim) Ferch, Carrington; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Virgil; sister Janet Kanwisher; brother-in-law Tony Boysun; nephews, Jeff Schander, Lane Stai; nieces Amy Stevens, Rita Schaeffer and Ann Thompson.
