Visitor restrictions in place at CHI Carrington

Effective immediately: CHI St. Alexius Health, Carrington along with its Medical Clinic and Urgent Care have implemented visitor restrictions due to an increase in influenza. These restrictions will be in effect until further notice. The restrictions at CHI St. Alexius Health, Carrington allow for visitors who are immediate family members only who are over 18 years of age and advises healthy individuals to limit clinic visits when possible.

The CDC reports that more than 22 million Americans have suffered from influenza so far this winter, more than 210,000 hospitalizations and at least 12,000 deaths, including 78 fatalities among children.

According to North Dakota Department of Health, there have been 5,868 confirmed cases of influenza in the state this season. That number was as of Feb. 1. Of those, 184 people have been hospitalized, and seven people have died.
