Community Foundation awards $2,200 in grants

The Womens Auxiliary Cemetery Association and the City of New Rockford are the recipients of this year's final round of New Rockford Community Foundation grants.

Pictured above, from left to right, are Patti Gehrtz, Alyson Myhre and Serena Guler. The $700 grant will be used to continue the cleanup and restorations needed after last year's July 8 wind storm.

Below, City Commissioner Kelly McKnight accepted $1,500 in grant funds for the City of New Rockford from Josh Guler. These funds will be used for lighting and planting upgrades at Centennial "Gazebo" Park downtown.

The New Rockford Community Foundation was established in 2008 as a permanent endowment fund managed by the North Dakota Community Foundation. Earnings from the fund are given as grants every year to organizations that support the New Rockford community. The next round of grants will be open in the spring of 2020.
