Obituary: Lawrence Hesch

Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Hesch, 81, of Carrington, died Sept. 16, 2019 at Golden Acres Manor Nursing Home in Carrington. The funeral service was held Sept. 20, at Grace Lutheran Church, Carrington. Burial was at the Carrington Cemetery. Rev. Richard Biberdorf officiated and special music was provided by Clara Edwardson and Darwin Solberg. Casket bearers were Wade Hesch, Perry Hesch, Jim Diede, Tim Schroeder, Jerome Greenshields and Eldon Redlin. Honorary bearers were all family and friends.

Larry was born in Valley City, N.D., the son of Garvis and Bernice (Stroh) Hesch. In his early years, Larry played guitar and accordion in a band called Country Roads.

Larry leaves his wife; two sons, Leslie (Melanie) Hesch and Terry (Marshell Ziesch) Hesch; one daughter, Cindy (Wes) McElroy; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his step-children Roxanne (James) Wiest, Janelle (Patrick) Stocking, Lonnie (Eileen) Schaffer and Todd (Erin) Schaffer; 11 step-grandchildren and 13 step-great grandchildren; one brother, Duane (Linda) Hesch; one sister, Cheryl (Bruce) Foster; many nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, nephews Kyle and Jeramie Foster, and step-son Scott Schaffer.
