Lommen retires, Loewen steps into pastoral care at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd

After serving the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd for over 16 years, Pastor Debra Lommen has retired.

Paula Loewen has taken over most of Pastor Debra's duties and with the new job title of Pastoral Care. Paula's new schedule in Pastoral Care is every other Sunday, and every Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 pm. The rest of her week is spent working in the LHGS Childcare Department.

Paula is married to Rev. Rick Loewen, the pastor at Kvernes Lutheran and the Federated Church in Carrington. They have four grown children named Jessica, Richard, Elizabeth and Mary. They have been blessed with four grandchildren: J.D., Isaiah, August, and Clara.

Paula has been active in ministry for the past 36 years, and has experience with bible studies, bible school, Christmas programs, children's sermons and preaching on multiple occasions.

Paula plans to incorporate her guitar and singing into her services, and states that there will still be mass and holy communion on Wednesday and Thursdays, officiated by a pastor from one of the member churches.
