Congress to consider repeal of Spirit Lake Nation crime law

Eddy County Sheriff Paul Lies spoke to Eddy County commissioners at their regular meeting on July 16 about a letter North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum sent to the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs (SCIA) and its chairman, Senator John Hoeven, regarding the criminal jurisdiction on the Spirit Lake Nation.
