Obituary: Louis Klocke

Louis A. Klocke, 65, rural Fessenden, passed away Tuesday, July 16 at the CHI Carrington Medical Center in Carrington.

Louis A. Klocke, son of Louis J. and Ramona (Lies) Klocke, was born Dec. 1, 1953 at New Rockford. He grew up in Eddy and Wells Counties and attended school in New Rockford and Sykeston before enrolling at Fessenden Public School where he graduated in 1971. He then attended Dakota College in Bottineau for two years.

Louis began farming with his father at an early age and later took over the farming operation. On June 30, 1979 he was united in marriage to Kathy Lukenbach in Fessenden. They made their home on the Klocke family farm southeast of Fessenden where he continued to farm until recently retiring due to illness.

Louis was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Fessenden and held several offices on the Cottonwood Township Board through the years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with friends but his greatest love was family and life on the farm.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy; two daughters, Erica (Justin) Hicks of Fargo and Erin Klocke of Minot; three grandchildren, Parker, Spencer and Logan Hicks; his mother, Ramona Klocke of Fessenden; and three brothers, Lee (Rose) Klocke of Huron, S.D., Leon (Jean) Klocke of Fessenden and Lowell (Stacey) Klocke of Missoula, Mont.

Louis was preceded in death by his father, Louis; and his sister, Louise.

Prayer Service will be Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at the church. The funeral will be Monday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Fessenden. Burialis at Heaton Cemetery at Heaton, N.D.
