New Rockford-Sheyenne's Bo Belquist, who will be entering his senior season for the Rockets this fall, has elected to sign a letter of intent to play for the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks football team.
Belquist, a 6'1", 165-pound wide receiver/cornerback/punt returner, made the announcement via his personal Twitter feed, @BelquistBo, on Wednesday, July 10. He will suit up for the Hawks and Head Coach Kyle "Bubba" Schweigert beginning in 2020, when the team begins their first season in the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC).
Last season, Belquist, who is a two-time Nine-Man All-State selection, had 54 catches for 1,096 yards and 18 touchdowns, and rushed 39 times for 337 yards and nine more scores. In the return game, he had five touchdowns and 406 yards.
He is the son of Elliott and Beth Belquist of New Rockford. Grandparents are Bob and Deb Belquist of New Rockford and Dean and Chris Warren of Sheyenne.
