Obituary: LouAnn Carlson

Former Grandfield Township native, LouAnn (Olson) Carlson, 82, passed away, Oct. 8, 2018, at Evergreen Health Hospice Care, Kirkland, Wash. Graveside services will be held June 15, 2019 at 1:30 p.m., at Grandfield Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Sheyenne, N.D. Pastor Jeff Halvorson presiding.

LouAnn was born to Ingvald and Florence (Lindstrom) Olson at the family homestead west of Sheyenne, N.D. She was baptized and confirmed at the Grandfield Lutheran Church and attended Greenfield School No. 2, Eddy County. She graduated from Benson County Agricultural High School, Maddock, ND.

She married Clair Carlson of Maddock, N.D., they later divorced. LouAnn worked as a lead clerk in the bookkeeping department of Todd Shipyards for several years, at Boeing Aircraft plant in Everett, Wash., and worked over 20 years for King County Social Services office in Burien, Wash.

She leaves behind one son, Brian Carlson, Seattle; two grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marlys Peterson of Sacramento, Calif. and Margaret (Peggy) Gudmunson, New Rockford, N.D.; brother-in-law Terry Braathen, Tolna, N.D.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Those who preceded were her parents; son, David Carlson; two daughters, Sandra Hintz and Pamela Carlson; son-in-law, Lyle Hintz; four brothers, Gene (Joyce) Olson, Ernie Olson, James (Marj) Olson, Loren Olson; four sisters, Shirley (Ralph) Westby, Lily (Lloyd) Westby, Faye (Darwyn) Kanzelman, Virginia Braathen; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
