Obituary: Esther Indergaard

Esther (Klindworth) Indergaard, 83, of Carrington passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington. The funeral services were held May 28, at Kverness Lutheran Church, Carrington. Burial was at Kverness Lutheran Cemetery, Carrington. Rev. Rick Loewen officiated with special music provided by Roger Lauckner, Clara Edwardson, Angie Walen and Noelle and Nikki Braaten. Honorary bearers were all of Esther's grandchildren.

Esther was born Nov. 22, 1935 in Harvey, N.D., the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Andersgord) Klindworth. She grew up in Hamberg, N.D., and attended elementary school there. Esther attended high school in Fessenden, graduating in 1954. Esther met James Indergaard at a dance in Harvey; they later married in South Dakota. Esther was a devoted member of Kvernes Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.

Esther is survived by her children; James W. Indergaard, Carrington, Sharon Laxdal, Edinburg, N.D., Fran (Dennis) Walen, Glenfield, N.D., Ruth (Andrew) Braaten, Carrington, and Tim (Bobbi) Indergaard, New Rockford; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Alfred "Sonny" Klindworth, Harvey; sister, Pearl (Charlie) Evenwoll, Shevlin, Minn.; sister-in-law, Marsha Klindworth, Garrison, N.D.; brother-in-law, Mervin Indergaard, Carrington, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Todd Laxdal; brothers, Larry, Clarence, Paul and Walter Jr. and sisters, Frances Klindworth and Marion Gibbs.
