Nelson County Art Council to host student art show

Nelson County Arts Council (NCAC) is pleased to announce the 2019 Student Art Show. Students in grades 7-12 from Dakota Prairie, Lakota, Valley-Edinburg, Larimore, and possibly other schools will have their works of art on display for public viewing at the NCAC Auditorium in Pekin. First, second and third place will be awarded in each of the categories of drawing, printmaking, mixed media, 3-dimensional and painting. There will also be a ‘Best in Show’ selection for each division: seventh and eighth grades and grades nine-12. This year’s guest judge is Patrick Luber, of Grand Forks.His work has been exhibited on the local, regional, national and international levels, and he has received numerous awards in juried exhibitions. In 2005, Mr. Luber received the North Dakota Humanities Council’s Larry Remele Fellowship and during Spring 2016 he served as an artist-in-residence at the Henry Luce III Center for Art & Religion in Washington, D.C. He currently teaches sculpture at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.

The show is open to the public April 8-13 from 3-6 p.m. each day. NCAC invites you to support our youth by coming to view their artwork.
