Retirement for Greff

After 39 years in the credit union industry, Kent Greff, Mill City Credit Union CEO, has announced his retirement. Kent has served Mill City since 2000. During his tenure the credit union has grown from three offices in the Twin Cities to eight branches in a total of four states. Assets grew from $72 million to $350 million.

Since 1979, Kent has served the credit union movement across three states (ND, SD, MN), four credit unions and two countries (Paraguay and Poland). He has also held volunteer leadership roles in multitude including, but not limited to, serving as the first Chair of the Board after the MN League and MN Association of Credit Unions combined to form the current Minnesota Credit Union Network (MNCUN), serving as Minnesota representative for CUNA Mutual's National Policy Owner Council and holding other positions on the Boards of the MN CU League and MNCUN. Contributions made while in these roles has led to accolades including recipient of the Distinguished Leadership Award from the MN Credit Union League, MNCUN Professional of the Year two times, induction into the National Credit Union Hall of Leaders in 2017 and being named a MN Credit Union Foundation CU Builder in 2018.

One of the experiences that Kent loved was his involvement in Poland in collaboration with Mayo Employees CU and the World Council of Credit Unions. This initiative helped launch the Institute of Cardiology CU in Warsaw. The time he spent with the medical personnel (and their families) who started the credit union was very special. Two of the men he worked alongside have gone on to serve the government in Poland as members of the Polish Sejm.

Those of you who know Kent would agree that he's a person of integrity, is fiercely passionate about serving members while being good stewards of their money and leads by example. Kent is also known as a relationship builder and maintains a wide group of people who consider him a trusted colleague and friend.

Kent's retirement date was Dec. 31, 2018. In lieu of a party, Kent would appreciate receiving a note from those whose path he has crossed. Please mail your note by Jan. 15, 2019 to the following address: Kent Greff, c/o Mill City, 10653 Wayzata Blvd., Minnetonka, MN 55305.
