Martin and Eloise Lucht drove to Devils Lake Friday, where Martin had an eye appointment.

Wednesday, Judy McKnight picked up Shirley Packard and they were among the gals at Kindred Sisters Bible Study group at the Margie Bohnet home.

Saturday, daughter Amanda Bickett made a special 40th anniversary supper for parents Ken and Marvis Holte at their home. Later Cody Bickett, Fayette Rink and friend Frank arrived with good wishes and all enjoyed a special cake for the occasion.

Friday found Shirley Packard and Calvin driving to Devils Lake where Shirley had an appointment at the Eye Clinic. Saturday morning helper at Shirley's was Marv Ghertz.

Martin and Eloise Lucht recently heard from their son Alan and wife. They have found a nice home in Germany and are getting settled in. Their wares, including their baby grand piano, made the voyage unscathed. They had moved from Anchorage, Alaska, where the recent earthquake happened. Alan is a civil engineer with the U.S. Army.

Many family, relatives, friends and neighbors from near and far brought 100th birthday greetings to Ervin Longnecker this past week at parties and gatherings here and there. Only to mention a few who wished Ervin a happy birthday were Martin and Janelle Koepplin, Todd and Karen Koepplin, Taylor and Amanda Koepplin, Terry and Sandy Koepplin, Melony Allmaras, Gina Clifton, Cory and Tammy Longnecker, Cory and Katie Jorgensen, Gary and Caryn Jorgensen and Duff and Sandy Settelmeyer.

What grand celebrations they were.
