November 29: Miller’s Fresh Foods’ Taste of the Season

From 3 - 6 p.m., Miller’s Fresh Foods hosts its annual tasting fest, featuring samples and recipes for a variety of delicious holiday fare! Get a recipe book of all the fare for a freewill donation.

November 29: NR-S Elementary Christmas Program

The students in grades 1-6 at NR-S invite you to their annual holiday musical spectacular. There are two performances scheduled this year, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Listen as the youth entertain with song, dance and instruments!

Nov. 30 - Dec. 16: DPRCA’s “Red and Gold: A Christmas Carol”

DPRCA’s Elliott Schwab penned this modern remake of the Christmas classic “The Christmas Carol.” Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. For tickets, call the Box Office at (701) 947-2417 go online to http://www.dprca.com.

December 1: Avon & Vendor Holiday Sale

Shop for gifts available from local vendors at the DPRCA Latte Lobby Dance Studio from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featuring Clean Little Boy Soaps, Avon, Scentsy and more! Special drawing at the end of the sale for $25 in Chamber bucks sponsored by the New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce.

December 1: Pop-up Shop at Sarah Smith Warren Photography

Shop for a variety of apparel, home decor, makeup and other items from five different businesses owned by area alumni. Open from 9 a.m. - noon only!

December 2: Santa Day

Start the afternoon with lunch at the New Rockford Eagles Club hosted by NR-S Close Up from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Then take in a special matinee showing of “Incredibles 2” at the Rockford Theatre starting at 12:30 p.m. (admission is one canned food or personal care item per person). After the movie, head down to the Brown Memorial to play fun carnival games, win prizes and visit Santa from 2 - 4 p.m. The NR-S Dial yearbook staff will photograph children with Santa and send you prints for a fee. Free treat bags for the kids. Carnival games are 50 cents each. Sponsored by New Rockford Lions Club and New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce.

December 2: Advent Tea

First Congregational Church is the host of this years’s Advent Tea, which is set for 2 p.m.

December 6: NR-S High School Chrismas Concert

Starting at 7 p.m. in the NR-S Gymnasium, students will entertain with a variety of holiday favorites. Slated to perform are the junior high choir, band and pop choir and high school choir, pop choir, jazz band and full band.

December 7: American Legion Post 30 Buck Night

Supper and display of bucks harvested during the 2018 season at the New Rockford Eagles Club. Social begins at 5:30 p.m. with supper served at 7 p.m. Tickets available at the door for $10. Raffle prizes given away. Everyone welcome.

December 14: Kindergarten Christmas Program

The kindergarten students will perform at 2 p.m. in the NR-S Gym.

Nov. 12 - December 17: Chamber Jolly Jingle Drawings

Receive entries from Nov. 12 to Dec. 16 with a $10 purchase from participating local businesses. Plus, each purchase of $10 or more this week (Nov. 26 - Dec. 2) is good for two entries into the drawing! A total of $850 in Chamber bucks will be given away.

Drawings begin on Dec. 1, when Mindy Skjerva of Avon, Katie Jorgenson of Tupperware and Misty Cronin for Clean Little Boy Soaps will draw a $25 winner from their box after the Avon & Vendor Sale.

The 12 Days of Christmas drawings run from Dec. 3 - 15. One business will draw a $25 winner from its box each day, on the following schedule: Dec. 3- CenDak Cooperative, Dec. 4- Do It Best Hardware, Dec. 5- Rockford Café, Dec. 6- Hideaway Hair Salon, Dec. 7- Log Cabin Liquors, Dec. 8- Bakers Dozen, Dec. 9- Casey’s General Store, Dec. 10- Transcript Publishing, Dec. 11- Central Pharmacy, Dec. 12- Flower Scent’R, Dec. 13- NAPA Auto Parts, Dec. 14- Cash and Carry Lumber and Dec. 15- Miller’s Fresh Foods.

The final drawings will be done at Bank Forward on Monday, Dec. 17, when we will give away (12) $25 and (2) $100 gifts of Chamber bucks.
