Match-ups for the Super Region 4 tournament in Devils Lake.
New Rockford-Sheyenne finished out their regular season play on a high note this past week, logging two home wins against regional opponents and earning the #3 seed in Super Region 4.
First, NR-S hosted Rolla on Thursday, Oct. 25. The Rockets played five hard fought sets with lots of long volleys to end up in the win column.
Coach Katie Demester said, "It isn't always pretty, but our girls do not give up!"
There was a slight break in the action after the fourth set as senior setter Carli Lies was recognized for having made her 1,000th career assist.
The Rockets went on to win the match 3-2 with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 13-25, 25-15, 15-5.
Then, on Monday, Oct. 29, the team played an intense game with the Dakota Prairie (DP) Knights, displaying lots of good volleys and great team spirit.
After dropping the first set 24-26, the Rockets rallied and won three straight to prevail in the contest. The other set scores were 25-22, 25-13 and 25-10.
Five seniors were recognized that evening during the annual senior night prgrogram. Ashley Schuster, Carli Lies, Gretchen Berglund, Alli Dockter and Darica Ziebart were each presented with a blue volleyball featuring notes written by their teammates highlighting favorite memories, what they will miss and notes of gratitude. Three statisticians- Kyleigh Hilbert, Cassidy Clifton and Destiny Sewell- were also recognized and given cards with similar notes from the team. The Rockets finish the regular season with a record of 16-10-1.
Super Region 4 action for the Rocket begins tonight, Nov. 5, when the Rockets play the winner of a play-in game between Benson County and Rolette-Wolford that took place after press time on Thursday.

The c-squad needed three sets to beat Rolla, as they prevailed 2-1 with set scores of 22-25, 25-18 and 15-9.
The junior high squad shut out the Bulldogs 2-0 with set scores of 25-14 and 25-20.
