Fishing:
*Devils Lake elevation, Oct. 30: 1,448.21 feet above mean sea level (MSL).
*Stump Lake elevation: 1,448.22 MSL.
*Lake Sakakawea elevation: 1,841.96 MSL; 29,000 cubic feet per second average (CFS) Garrison Dam daily releases.
*N.D. Game and Fish Dept. Dist. game wardens: Little to no activity on Devils Lake and east-central area lakes. Missouri River continues producing success in the tailrace and down river. Best walleye success remains in the midsection of Lake Sakakawea.
*Devils Lake, Ed’s Bait Shop, Devils Lake: Limited activity.
*Devils Lake, Lakeview Lodge, Minnewaukan: Anglers working harder for walleye but those taken are better sized. Try trolling crankbaits to move around and locate fish.
*Devils Lake, West Bay Resort, Minnewaukan: Little activity.
*Devils Lake, Woodland Resort, Devils Lake: Little activity on Devils Lake.
*Foster County area lakes, Dry Dock, Carrington: No activity on area lakes.
*Jamestown Reservoir, Pioneer Bait and Tackle, Jamestown: Activity remains limited on the reservoir and area lakes.
*Jamestown Reservoir, Sooper Stop, Jamestown: More angling activity, weather permitting, but no reports on success.
*Lake Ashtabula, Ashtabula Crossing, Luverne: No new reports.
*Lake Ashtabula, Bayshore, Valley City: Little activity with docks pulled out of the water on Lake Ashtabula.
*Lake Sakakawea, Cenex Bait & Tackle, Garrison: Most activity remains farther west from Deepwater Bay to the west on Lake Sakakawea. A few anglers working Douglas Bay and east of de Trobriand Bay, weather permitting. Try jigs or Lindy rigs and minnows or jigging Raps.
*Lake Sakakawea/Lake Audubon/Missouri River, Scott’s Bait and Tackle, Pick City: Missouri River remains fair to good for walleye in the chutes both during the day and at night from boats. Some trout and salmon mixed in. OK walleye success down river, as well. Try 3-swivels. Try casting crankbaits at night from shore along the rocks for walleye but a little slower than from boats. Lake Sakakawea slow for salmon. Not much walleye activity.
*Lonetree WMA area lakes, Harvey: Several area lakes and the Sheyenne River producing a nice fall walleye bite.
*Pipestem Reservoir, Pioneer Bait and Tackle, Jamestown: Little activity.
*Pipestem Reservoir, Sooper Stop, Jamestown: A few more anglers but no reports.
*Spiritwood Lake, Pioneer Bait and Tackle, Jamestown: No new reports.
*Spiritwood Lake, Sooper Stop, Jamestown: No reports.
Hunting:
*Upland: Poor pheasant success in most of east-central N.D.
*Waterfowl: Decent numbers of geese and ducks in east-central N.D. with most snow geese still north of N.D. Highway 200. Many of the snow geese are adults and harder to decoy. Good snow goose numbers in north-central N.D. with OK success. Lonetree WMA area enjoying increasing numbers of waterfowl in the area. Fewer geese around Devils Lake, however. A lot of ducks moved out of the north-central area but some divers and mallards still around. Good goose numbers along the eastern tier of the Missouri River System with nice Canada goose numbers and snow geese moving through the lake’s midsection early in the week.
