Tickets on sale for "Deal or No Deal" fundraiser

Are you feeling lucky? This year’s “Deal or No Deal” dinner and game show event, the signature fundraiser for the New Rockford Community Foundation, is coming up on March 10 at the New Rockford Golf Course. The game will award $2000 in cash prizes, in addition to $1000 in gift certificates and prizes from local businesses, Lucky Duck 50/50 cash raffles, audience mini-games, and a full catered dinner.

Registration and a social hour will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner of seasoned beef, chicken breasts, sides, and dessert. The Deal or No Deal game - a “reverse raffle” where losers are drawn out one by one, with prizes given out along the way - will begin at 7 p.m. with the first round of eliminations. After each round, mini-games for more cash prizes and audience challenges for freebies will keep the crowd entertained and playing along as the final players are revealed.

The final 25 players left in the game will be offered equal shares of $2000 cash, or the opportunity to play on for the chance to win even more money, at the risk of being sent home empty-handed. In previous years, the grand prize has been split between two or three winners, and has never yet been taken home by a single player.

The fundraiser is held by and on behalf of the New Rockford Community Foundation, a permanent endowment fund that provides grant money to local non-profits. Since 2010, the Foundation endowment fund has grown to over $100,000. The interest on the fund has been used to grant back over $17,000 to community projects, with another $3000 expected for 2018.

Gold level sponsors for Deal or No Deal 2018 are the Bank Forward, Lesmeister Construction, and the New Rockford Eagles Club. Also sponsoring the event are CenDak, Community Credit Union, Eagles Women’s Auxiliary, James River Dentistry, Linneman Equine, Mick’s 281 Service, Myhre Seed, New Rockford Lions Club, Rockford Theatre, Rockin’ Fitness, Roughrider Feeds, Surety Title Company, Transcript Publishing, and Yri Electric, with the support of the New Rockford Area Betterment Corporation and more than a dozen additional local businesses and organizations.
